Andrew comes from a cultural studies tradition, having completed his master’s degree in the School of Culture and Communication at The University of Melbourne, Australia. His past research explored representations of gender, class, and race in news media representations of assisted reproductive technologies. His current research interests are queer representation, queer film festivals, and media activism. He continually interrogates who has access to media discourse and who is permitted to represent whom, as well as how self-representations are fashioned and circulated within marginalized groups.
Andrew lived outside of the US between 2009-2015, working, volunteering, and studying in Denmark, Singapore, and Australia.
